The Question “Where Elfaria lost Will in the recruiting process?” suggest certain scenarios in the story. Wistoria: Wand and Sword season 2 is currently running. Season 1 was awesome but went under the radder of fans. Because of which, there was not no hype because of it. But 6 months before the release of season 2, there was seen certain build up for the show.
For those who are new to the show, Wistoria: Wand and Sword, here’s the plot for better understanding:
Season 1 Plot:
Will Serfort, a magicless student in a world where magical prowess is absolute. To fulfill a childhood promise to reach the top of the magical tower with his prodigy friend, Elfaria, Will fights monsters in the dungeon using only swordsmanship, strategy, and sheer determination
Season 2 plot:
Magicless student Will Serfort faces the fallout of the tragic dungeon praxis attack. He struggles to master his unique “Wis” anti-magic power ahead of his graduation and tries to uncover the mysterious organization of evil mages attacking the Rigarden Magical Academy.
Season 1 & Manga are suggested to watch for the new comers for better understanding of the series as well.
Both Elfaria(Elfie) & Will grew up in an orphanage. And thus why they have the same surname. But the bond between them was really strong and they wanted to be together. The desire to stay together didn’t last long as Elfaria turned out to be a genius and on the other hand, will wasn’t able to use magic through a wand at all.
Little did will knew that he had different abilities which would end up being crucial for the tower and for himself. Elfaria made her way to become a magia vander of the Ice Fraction and Will stayed in the academy. He was being called “Laggard” because of his not able to use magic through wands.
But swordsmanship of Will is top notch which he developed through fighting monsters. Though credits for the academy was a another aspect behind it. By saving the capital and it’s people Will, was pushed through for the selection of the tower thanks to the spell will created which is called courage. Also got the backing of the headmistress and won over his peers.
Where Elfaria lost Will in the recruiting process?
The moment when Kruetz Harlon, the head of the upper institute, who wants to turn will into a lab rat and disect the magic that is within him into a weapon. Was the main culprit in manipulatiing the fractions from recruiting will where will got the blessing of 5 fractions. That was the deciding moment, cause if there was no interferance, Will would’ve went to the Ice Fraction to elfaria .
Although there would’ve been a chance of the Fire fraction going after him creating a scene. But Kreutz Harlon manipulating the infrastructure, creating and sending monsters that were beyond will’s ability to defeat. This was done intentionally. Although Will passed the second bloom and got the blessings of both Zeo( Thunder fraction) and Elfaria(Ice fraction).
Things got heated as both fraction magia vanders fought hard to get will but eventually will goes to the thunder fraction as it was decided with rock, paper, scissors. as funny as it sounds. Both Elfaria and Will had to accept their fate.
Kreutz, manipulating the infrastructure, intercepts love letters between Elfaria and Will, and even goes as far as sending assassins and dangerous test monsters to force Will to become a lab rat. It was the defining moment. Elfaria lost it completely when she had the chance, it was done and dusted then.
Apart from Kreutz, Elfaria’s own adjutant/assistants initially obstruct her from bringing Will directly into the Ice Faction. Because she holds the supreme position of a Magia Vander, bringing a magicless boy into her personal faction would heavily damage his reputation, fueling perceptions of blatant favoritism and preventing him from earning the respect of his peers.
